Oktane Arcade Experience
Okta
2026
Overview
Oktane is Okta’s annual customer conference, bringing together customers, partners and people working in identity and security. For the event, the Learning team wanted to create something attendees could interact with instead of another screen to read. I worked on the product design for an interactive arcade experience built for touchscreen kiosks. I mapped the user flows, structured the game journey and designed the interface from the initial entry point through gameplay, feedback, scoring, results and the leaderboard. The main game, Identity Crisis, combines a product knowledge quiz with a Tetris-style mini-game between rounds. Players choose between Okta and Auth0, answer questions, earn points and tickets, and compete on a live leaderboard. A big part of the work was figuring out how to make the experience work in a busy event environment. I focused on clear interaction patterns, simple navigation and UI states that made the next step obvious without relying on instructions or a facilitator. I also designed the different gameplay states, including answer selection, correct and incorrect feedback, the final phishing resistance round and both touchscreen and keyboard controls. The result is a complete, self-contained experience that takes someone from walking up to the kiosk to finishing the game and seeing their score, with the interaction model and visual system designed to work consistently across the entire flow.
